Summer is here, and so is mango season. If you're looking for something sweet, creamy, and refreshing to beat the heat, mango lassi is a must-try. With a ripe mango, some yogurt, and a pinch of cardamom in your kitchen, you're already halfway there.
Whether it's a quick breakfast finisher, a post-lunch treat, or a guest-worthy summer cooler, this lassi is sure to hit the spot.
- Mango: 1 cup (freshly peeled pieces)
- Yoghurt: 1 cup
- Honey or sugar: 2 tablespoons (optional, depending on mango's sweetness)
- Cardamom powder: ¼ tablespoon
- Ice cubes: 3-4 (optional, for a chilled version)
Step 1: In a blender, add the peeled mango pieces, yogurt, honey/sugar, cardamom powder, and ice cubes.
Step 2: Blend everything until smooth and creamy. If the mixture feels too thick, add some buttermilk gradually until you reach the desired consistency. Also, adjust the sweetness if needed.
Step 3: Pour into tall glasses and serve immediately. You can also refrigerate it for 15–20 minutes for an extra chill.
- Soak some saffron strands in water and blend them in for a rich flavor.
- Sprinkle some crushed cashews, pistachios, or almonds on top for crunch.
- Add a few small mango chunks on top for extra juiciness.
- Toss in a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that extra yum.
